Overview
This carefully curated journey takes you beyond typical tourism and into the everyday rhythm of Tra Vinh - one of the Mekong Delta’s most culturally rich yet undiscovered destinations.
Across three days, you will engage directly with local communities, participate in traditional activities, and experience a rare blend of Vietnamese and Khmer heritage - all at a relaxed and intimate pace.
- Live Like a Local: Harvest coconuts, cycle through quiet village paths, collect eggs from the farm, and share meals with local families — not as a visitor, but as a welcomed guest.
- A Rare Spiritual Encounter: Spend meaningful time with a Khmer Buddhist monk in a peaceful temple. Engage in a guided conversation, explore local beliefs, and receive a traditional blessing — a deeply personal and memorable experience.
- Hands-On Cultural Experiences: Wrap your own Bánh Tét (traditional sticky rice cake) and take it home after it’s slowly cooked throughout the day. Cook and enjoy Bánh Xèo, one of Vietnam’s most loved dishes.
- Slow Travel, Done Right: No rushing. No crowds. Just quiet roads, open landscapes, and time to truly take it all in.

Frequently asked questions
This trip is designed for a relaxed, slow-travel pace. The physical activities include casual bicycling along flat village paths on Days 1 and 2, a short motorcycle ride on Day 2, and light walking at cultural sites. No intense hiking or athletic fitness is required, but comfort with basic cycling is highly recommended.
Absolutely. Since your meals are prepared fresh by local hosts and families, we can accommodate various dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or specific food allergies – Halal food. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions when booking so we can prepare alternatives for regional specialties like Bun Nuoc leo and Banh Xeo.
For general village activities, lightweight, breathable clothing and comfortable walking shoes or sandals are best. However, Day 2 and Day 3 include visits to historic temples and a meeting with a Khmer Buddhist monk. On these days, you must dress modestly: shoulders and knees should be fully covered (no shorts, tank tops, or short skirts). – Don’t worry if you don’t have long clothes. We will gift you a traditional set of clothes in this trip. You can use thatÂ

We prioritize authentic yet comfortable stays that match the peaceful spirit of Trà Vinh. You will stay in clean, comfortable, and carefully selected local boutique lodgings or homestays that feature modern amenities (such as private bathrooms and air conditioning) while retaining a charming, local feel.

Â
Yes! If you do not wish to cycle, we can arrange alternative local transport—such as a trishaw, an extra motorbike chauffeur, or utilizing our support vehicle—for the village explorations. For the Day 2 market visit, you will ride on the back of a motorcycle driven safely by an experienced local guide.
Â
Your English-speaking guide will brief you on specific temple etiquette before the meeting. The key guidelines are to keep your voice low, remove your shoes before entering the temple space, and sit with your feet tucked to the side (never pointing your feet directly at the monk or Buddha statues). The interaction is open and friendly – feel free to ask genuine questions about life and spirituality.
Â
Â
On Day 2, you will learn the technique and wrap your own Bánh Tét. Because traditional rice cakes require about 8 hours of slow boiling to cook fully, your local hosts will keep an eye on the fire overnight. Your fully cooked, authentic cake will be packed up and ready for you to take home as a delicious souvenir on Day 3!

Our standard private transportation returns you directly to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. However, if you are planning to extend your journey deeper into the Mekong Delta, we offer an optional drop-off in Can Tho city at no extra cost. Please coordinate this drop-off with us before the trip begins.

Â
Don’t worry! We provide high-quality, full-body rain suits for every guest on our motorbike trips to ensure you stay dry and comfortable no matter the weather. And the road to Mekong Village only a bit sunny at start, when we hit the countryside the wind will breeze
We primarily use modern, late-model SUVs driven by professional, dedicated drivers to ensure maximum comfort and safety.
Our pricing operates on a tiered scale: the cost per person decreases significantly as your group size increases. The base rate applies to a solo traveler (1 pax), while groups of 2-5 and 6-10 enjoy lower per-person rates due to shared transport and guiding costs. All quotes include your private vehicle, driver, English guide, meals, and entry fees.
This is a 100% Private Tour tailored completely to your personal schedule. However, if another group happens to book the exact same timeline on your date, we may consult with both parties to see if you’d like to combine into a larger group option, which would lower the cost for everyone.
