Cu Chi Tunnels – The Iron Triangle in the Vietnam war

Your guide picks you up at your hotel and we leave Ho Chi Minh City by the rural roads on its outskirts. Choose a modern SUV, or ride behind a professional driver on our Cu Chi Tunnels motorbike tour. On the way, we stop at a sugarcane juice shop for a cool drink before entering the Cu Chi area.

Passing the rubber plantations of Hóc Môn and local flower farms, we leave the city behind and head toward what was once one of the most strategic strongholds of the resistance.

The Củ Chi Tunnels were one of the most important backbones of the resistance forces around Saigon. Weapons were stored here, intelligence was gathered, and officers planned attacks and decided their next steps. It was far more than a base: it was the heart of the resistance movement.

The Blueprint: Start at the Cedar Falls campaign re-animation and miniature automaton display. It shows the scale of one of the war’s largest sweep operations and how the underground network survived it, so you understand the story before you go underground.

Visit the liberation zone and see how people lived through the raids and fought back.

Wartime schools and civilian homes, a glimpse of daily life in what was known as the “Land of Steel.”

Secret meeting rooms used by officers and resistance leaders, along with many other rooms and facilities.

Trenches and war damage kept as they are today, a reminder of how brutal the war was.

Exhibition areas display the military vehicles and equipment used in the battles of Củ Chi by the U.S. Army, allied forces and the Army of the Republic of Vietnam, including the APC M113, UH-1 Huey helicopter, M41 Walker Bulldog tank and M48 tank.

You will also see infantry weapons, artillery shells, grenades and bombs dropped across the area, alongside the weapons of the Củ Chi guerrillas: homemade anti-tank mines, rifles and recoilless DKZ guns.

The Revival: See how nature has reclaimed the battlefield, with lush forest now covering old bomb craters.

Then step down into the tunnel network. It stretches 250 km in total, but you will only explore a short section, so no need to worry. Move from room to room and feel the real living conditions:

• The command bunker, where critical wartime decisions were made.

• The underground field hospital, where you see how little medical supplies there were and the hardship of the people who lived here.

• Spike traps, pitfall traps and other defenses, plus workshops where guerrillas made homemade weapons.

Going underground is always optional. If you prefer to stay above ground, the site is still well worth the visit.

Try firing historical weapons used by both sides during the war. This is optional. Prices follow the official shooting range menu, and bullets are not included in the tour price.

Head back to the city and stop for a local lunch on the way. Lunch is included, so this is a Cu Chi Tunnels tour with lunch and nothing extra to plan. Then we return to Ho Chi Minh City.
