Day 01 :

Into the Mekong Countryside

Day 1: From City to Our Village

* 7:00 AM: Gather at the designated meeting point (shared in advance). Breakfast on the way to Tra Vinh

First stop when you reach the village, visit a Coconut Mattress/Rope Workshop, where locals villager transform coconut fibers into traditional handmade products. Learn about the process and even try your hand at crafting using materials from the coconut tree.

Then we go to Aunt Tư’s house: experience haverst/ opening coconuts, enjoy fresh coconut water (Straight fresh from the tree), and relax on a hammock under the coconut garden and feel the breeze wind blow through the irrigation canal system used for cultivation

Continue to the village host, settle in and enjoy a countryside-style lunch prepared by local hosts, featuring fresh and seasonal ingredients.

13:00: We drive you out to the Hotel for checking in leave all your stuff there. Rest for 1 hrs

We will pick you up at the hotel and drive you to our village. Get your self the best Bicycle and Cycle through peaceful village roads, canals, and lush gardens

And stop by the farm to collect the eggs from duck. And feed the chickens,ducks and geese there.

Then we will stop by a seasonal fruit orchard to taste and learn about local fruits (depend on season as this garden is no chem fertilizer and everything is grow natural)

Highlight of this evening:

Take part in feeding chickens and ducks the traditional way, just as locals do in their daily life. And remember to pick up some eggs for tomorrow breakfast
Enjoy a bicycle ride around the village, breathing in the fresh air and discovering the peaceful beauty of rural landscapes.

* In the evening, savor a home-cooked dinner with local specialties

* Free time to unwind or join light entertainment activities such as karaoke with your host or listen to them singing traditional songs

Day 02 :

Mekong’s Village Life & Cultural Immersion

Start your morning with delicious breakfast made from the local duck eggs and fish sour

A hands-on experience making Bánh Tét – a traditional Vietnamese sticky rice cake wrapped in banana leaves. The cake will be slowly cooked for around 8 hours, and you will take it back to the city as a meaningful souvenir at the end of the day.

* Explore a vibrant local market, where villagers gather to trade fresh produce and regional specialties.

* Continue to a historic Chinese refugee temple, originally built in the 1500s, reflecting the cultural depth and history of the area.

Ao Bà Om: Visit a lake associated with Khmer matriarchal legends, surrounded by ancient trees, creating a unique cultural and spiritual space
Khmer Culture Museum: Experience the Khmer lithophone (stone instrument), reflecting the spiritual and musical life of the Khmer people

Visit a local Ktung Temple to meet the Venerable monk.

Enjoy lunch with Bún Nước Lèo – a signature Trà Vinh dish. This rich noodle soup is made from fermented fish broth, combined with fresh herbs, seafood, and pork, representing the unique Khmer culinary influence.

Now is time for the farm with rice fields and fish ponds; feed the cows/fish like a local and learn how we make cattle farm but still friendly to the environment.

* In the evening. Join a cooking session to make Bánh Xèo, a crispy Vietnamese savory pancake made from rice batter with shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts.

and collect your finished Bánh Tét before heading back to the city.

Frequently Asked Question

Will I actually be participate in the acitivites, or is this just a for show activity?

This is a hands-on adventure. Depending on the season, you’ll be expected to help with daily chores and you will participate like a real Mekong Farmer work and culture practice. We don’t fake the activities and the photos opportunity is absolutely randomize and not every experience is the same

Where exactly am I sleeping and eating?

For sleeping it will be the local hotel, but dont worry, we make sure you will well rest and the room will be in good condition too. But if you travel solo or small group (1 to 3 people) and want to sleep in the host name. That can do but expect it will only come with basic necessaries like: Bath room, place to sleep. But good point is you can spend all time with us – the host so you can know how the farmer live from morning till night time

For eating will be Traditional food but we hand picked it the menu so you don’t have to eat the scary spider thing. But it will always an option for you to try the new food like coconut worm (we will discuss in trip about it)

What kind of gear do I need to pack for the fields

Forget the high-end safari gear. To blend in and stay protected, think like a local:

Clothing: Lightweight, long-sleeved shirts and loose trousers to protect against the sun and insects.
Footwear: We provide traditional rubber boots for the heavy mud, but bring sandals for lounging.
The Iconic “Non La”: We’ll provide you with a conical hat—it’s the best “air conditioning” for your head in the Delta humidity.

I don’t speak Vietnamese; how do I communicate with the farmers?

Agriculture is a universal language. While your hosts might only know basic English phrases, the “Farmer Way” is all about demonstration and mimicry.

You’ll learn through gestures, shared meals, and plenty of laughter.
A big PLUS is we also provide a local excellent English guide who isn’t just a translator, but a member of the community who can explain the deep-rooted spiritual connection and the culture perfectly in English for you

What happens if it rains, because our activities is pretty much outdoor?

In the Delta, rain isn’t a reason to stop; it’s a blessing for the crops.

Surely, we have to change an activities a bit but we can change the outdoor activities to be other thing to do indoor. If the rain stop soon we will switch it back outdoor, imagine the smell of fresh earthy rain smell after the rain is a nature recovery

Beside, there is nothing quite like the sound of a tropical downpour hitting the broad leaves of a banana plantation, right?

I have a child, can they join?

We won’t sugarcoat it: yes, it can be a bit of physical demanding. But as our aim is family and small group activity so everything is schedule for even the child can have their part in the activities

I'm Christian you trip have one part of visit the temple, do this have anything to do with religious?

No worry my Christian friends. Our Buddhist way (Theravada) Never ask other people to convert. We want to take you to the temples to know the culture

And asking the monk for guidance is not religious practice but like asking philosophies the question

And the blessing from the monks is not religious but will be like a “Bless you” when someone sneeze
